After many years of business downtown, The Local expanded and opened their new beach side bar and grill in Pacific Beach. The Local PB presented a unique challenge in that I was asked thematically and visually connect this two story location via a center piece suspended above the stairwell. Worn woods, cool blues tones and debris float along the ceiling of the flotsam and jetsam dark pub downstairs. The piece is meant to guide the viewer upstairs- and as you climb the energy intensifies- into a vortex of found wood and lights. In total the installation runs 60ft horizontally and rises 35ft toward the sky.
